1897 - Methodist Chapel, Winchester Street
|
I don't have a date for the building of the chapel but it is shown on the map for 1897. With this place of worship, a Wesleyan chapel in the High Street and of course the prominent church of St Mary's, Overton was clearly a God fearing community. There were also at least 9 pubs, two of which can easily be identified on the 1897 map - The Greyhound and the White Hart. Town Mill is another landmark building which is still with us today.
