10_5SP001 Site of Arkle Lodge. The row of buildings is on Winchester Street and the white house on the left was the home of the Sprents. The Greyhound Pub is on the left on the far side of the road. The picture was taken (from Waltham Road) pre war when the land was farmed by the Sprents. (Per Alastair Blair June 2008 - the picture is shown on a post card issued c.1910) From Brian Burgess
