This is the bridge over the Test at the bottom of Straight Lane. Ollie Kite died near here c.1970. Ollie was an expert fly fisherman and was a key figure in the TV Series "Out of Town. Presented by Jack Hargreaves it ran from 1963 to 1981. To many countryside lovers this was a "must see" series and I will never forget the theme song sung by Max Bygraves: Say what you will, the countryside is still, the only place where I could settle down. Troubles there are so much rarer, out of town.
