05_2BS002_0 Flint "knife" found on the bank of the River Test near the bridge. The bank was being reinforced with chalk and the flint may have been brought in with it. The flint would have been struck as a large flake from a blade core by a hunter-gatherer and had two sharp edges. It is thought to be from the Mesolithic period (12,000 to 4,000BC). Advice on this was kindly provided by Paul Brooker of Thetford. Found by Srdja Popovic
