And then it was all over - except for the memories. Some people said it was the biggest turnout they have ever seen. It was a special day as it commemorated 60 years from the start of the Korean War. But it has been the rising numbers of dead and seriously wounded in Afghanistan that seems to have touched the nation in 2010. In the last five years to 31st October there were 445 serious injuries and 337 fatalities. There was yet another fatality on Remembrance Day itself.
