12TT037_0 Southington Mill c.1900. There was a mill recorded here in the Domesday Survey of 1086. Previously known as Lynch Mill, it was a corn mill continuously from the 11th century to the mid 1930s when it was run by the Crimble brothers. It is alleged that they were forced into selling by a conspiracy to divert much of their business to other mills, thus making them bankrupt. From David Bishop
