05_2BSCT_001 This aerial photo was taken in about 1964. In the top part of the picture can be seen a collection of ex WW1 Canadian Army huts. These are believed to have been built in the 1920s as temporary accommodation for mill workers and were subsequently sold off to villagers. Little information is available about this little development of nine(?) dwellings but they became known as Chinatown, probably because of their ramshackle appearance.
