The Phillimores, William (Bill) and Anne (Annie) with 5 boys moved to no.4 "Chinatown" from a cottage on the other side of Bridge Street. That plot is now a vegetable garden. John Phillimore was born in the new family home in 1926. The picture shows his 4 brothers in 1928 - Freddie, born in 1915, standing at the back and then (cw), Tommy 1920, Denis 1924? and Peter 1922. There was another brother, Ernie? born 1917, who was killed when he fell off a cart just before John was born.
