John Phillimore, December 2008. John's first name is Kenneth but always called John. He went to the infant school in Red Lion Lane. Then to the junior school at what is now the Community Centre and then, at 11, to Whitchurch. He left at 14 and went to work at Portals. He had 4 years in the army during the war serving in Lanark Scotland, Woking, Orkney, Edinburgh, Norway, Isle of Wight and Italy. Other than this, all his working life was at Portals - he has not married yet.
