12TT016 In the background is shown a block of flats that were built when the mill was converted in 1987. When the mill was functioning the water level in the main river was controlled by a small weir which diverted surplus water off to the right, to rejoin the river below the mill. In 1987 this weir was replaced by the substantial sluice gate which is shown in the middle of the picture. Photographed Febuary 2006 By Tony Morris
